Tri-Lakes's Upcoming Events 2020

February 17 Monday - Indoor meeting at the Dorchester Senior Centre, beginning at 7:30 pm. - Our speaker is Tri-Lakes member Eric Belliveau (assisted by John Hogg). Eric will talk about the story of the Canadian $10 bill featuring Viola Desmond among other reminiscing. Please lug your mug, bring some small change for the 50/50 and coffee, and a few cookies to share.

March 16 Monday - Indoor meeting at the Dorchester Senior Centre, beginning at 7:30 pm. This will be a social evening and we will be enjoying ice cream sundaes! All you need to bring are the usual: lug your mug, bring some small change for the 50/50 and coffee, and some cookies to eat with our ice cream. Ice cream and all the fixings will be provided and served by your Tri-Lakes executive!!

March 22 Sunday - An afternoon of bowling and pizza is planned. We will begin at 2:00 pm at the Fairmont Bowling Lanes (on the No Frills plaza, corner of Hamilton Road and Highbury Avenue in southeast London). The cost will be $12.95 for three games including shoe rental. After bowling, at 4:00 we will move around the corner to Rico’s Pizzeria. They offer delicious pizza, salad, wings, steak on a bun, or panzarotti and you can wash it down with wine or beer! Prices range from $3.50 per slice to a jumbo pizza for $31.00. Please sign up on the sheet at the February or March meeting, or RSVP to Rich Bell (see below) before March 18. If you can’t bowl, feel free to join the group for supper only, but you must still RSVP!

March 28 Saturday - Bus Trip to Detroit - information has gone out in previous notices but contact Fred Elliott (see below) if you want to see if there are any seats left. For those who are attending, you must be at the Ramada for departure promptly at 8:30 am. Please remember your passport, money and name tag if you have one.

Annual HASC Inspection Meets - These inspections are conducted by our own regional team and help ensure that your antique vehicle meets HASC standards (this is NOT a Ministry of Transportation inspection). Participation in any HASC tour or event, local or national, requires that a current inspection sticker (issued at these meets) be affixed to your vehicle. If you have any questions about this, or can’t make either of the inspection meets, arrangements can be made, just contact our team leader Dave Darel (519-666-0789) or any one of the Tri-Lakes executive. Most members regard this inspection as very beneficial since mechanical problems with their vehicles are often identified before damage can occur. Please be sure you have your ownership and insurance with you.

April 25 Saturday - Inspection Meet #1, Oxford Dodge (1249 Hyde Park Road, between Sarnia & Gainsborough). Inspections will begin at 9:00 am and the last car will be accepted at 1:45 pm. Enter off Hyde Park Road and drive up to one of the service bays, you will be given paperwork and everyone will be served in turn.

May 2 Saturday - Inspection Meet #2, home of Tri-Lakes member Ross Harris, 771 Parkinson Road, Woodstock. Ross is located on the northwest corner of Parkinson & Norwich Avenue. There are a few parking spots under the hydro tower or Ross says it is okay to use the plaza next door. Inspections begin at 9:00 am and end with the last vehicle at 1:45 pm.

May 24 Sunday - Our first tour of the 2020 season will start at 1:00 pm from the home of Alan & Marion Woods, 17332 Evelyn Drive, Thorndale. (Dundas Street east of London, north on the Nissouri Road past Heeman’s, then east on Evelyn two concessions. They are on the corner of Evelyn and Heritage, large barn and home). Our afternoon will include a few very interesting stops that Alan & Marion have hand picked for us!
